When need to do "calibration" during the fuel sensor installation?

In the vehicle fuel monitoring field, the "calibration" is a word mentioned frequently.
Sometimes, it confused the new users because it is the same word but used in different situations.
Situation 1: The capacitive fuel sensor be cut off
Capacitive fuel sensor CLS2 (AS10) is designed for different fuel tank types.
Default is 70cm tube length, 0-5V signal output.
But it is cuttable.
If you cut off the fuel sensor, must do the "calibration" with the calibrator.
This calibration process=adjust the fuel sensor, still output 0-5V signal range after the fuel sensor tube length be cut off.
After calibration, for example, the fuel sensor now is 50cm tube length, but the signal output still is 0-5V.
In this situation, the calibration is only associated with the fuel sensor itself which has been cut off or not, not associated with the fuel tank size, no matter it is regular or irregular shape.
The calibration tool is the "calibrator".
The fuel sensor video installation guide, which includes the calibration process, you can find the link below: https://youtu.be/7Xjg204mb1I

Situation 2: The fuel tank shape is not regular size
How the fuel sensor works?
The fuel sensor detects the fuel level height and convert the height value to voltage, then output this voltage to GPS tracker. Voltage range is 0-5V.
For regular shape fuel tank:
0V=Empty
2.5V=50% full
5V=Full
Note: In the tracking platform, 0-5V is converted proportionally to 0-4096.
For the regular size fuel tank, the fuel level change is linear relationship with the fuel capacity.
Just put the formula can get correct fuel result.
However, for the irregular size fuel tank, need do the "calibration" to establish the relationship between the fuel sensor value and the actual fuel capacity.
X is the fuel sensor value in the tracking platform
Y is the corresponding capacity liters.

In this situation, the "calibration" condition is if the fuel tank is regular size.
If the fuel tank is irregular size, need do "calibration".
This “calibration” process no need special tool, just adding the fuel in the fuel tank step by step, record the fuel sensor value in the tracking platform (X value) and corresponding fuel capacity liters (Y value). So you can establish a table with several lines to get correct fuel level result.
